The new Camry is equipped with Aisin AW's 2-Motor FWD Hybrid Transmission, 8-Speed FWD Automatic Transmission (Direct Shift-8AT) and Dynamic Navigation.
The 2-Motor FWD Hybrid Transmission, newly developed with Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC), achieves reduced size and excellent fuel economy by drastically changing the layout. This product is produced by TMC.
The 8-Speed FWD Automatic Transmission, also jointly developed with TMC, achieves greater driving response through an expanded LOCK-UP range due to a high performance small torque converter. (This product is not adopted in the Camry for Japan.)
In the information field, the newly developed Dynamic Navigation, which achieves further smoother navigation with improved timing accuracy, was adopted in the Camry for North America.
The main features of each product are shown below.

・ The reduction gear for amplifying the motor torque was changed from a planetary gear to a parallel shaft gear mechanism

・ World-leading transmission efficiency and smaller weight and size are achieved, helping improving fuel economy
・ By route searching using the latest map information on the servers and probe information* in addition to data in the in-vehicle system, further smoother navigation with improved timing accuracy is achieved
* Real-time information on traffic congestion generated using information on positions and speed of vehicles running on roads, etc.
